Schedule a Proctored Exam

At Middletown Public Library, an exam proctor is available for free by appointment only through our Adult Services Librarian. Please contact us at 401-846-1573 ext. 2 to schedule a date and time and receive confirmation of availability for your exam needs.

The maximum time allowed for exam proctoring is 2 hours.

What You Need:

  • A valid photo ID must be presented before the exam begins.
  • Currently, we do not offer private study rooms for this service; please note that you will be at a table or computer in line of sight to the reference desk.
  • We can provide scrap paper, pens, and pencils; all other materials, including calculators, must be provided by the student.
  • Computers are available only by advance request.
  • You must ensure that exam instructions are sent to Reference staff at least 24 hours before the scheduled exam time.

Exam Policies:

  • Reference librarians are available to proctor exams while working at the public service desk, so they cannot offer exclusive supervision for exams.
  • Exams will be proctored by whichever librarian is on duty at the Reference desk during the scheduled time.
  • Students are responsible for monitoring their own exam time.
  • We cannot enforce restrictions on personal belongings, including cell phones, laptops, or textbooks.
